A Note from Dr. Levy to His Allergy Patients: Some of you have called because you are concerned about missing allergy shots. Please don’t worry. Missed allergy shots is an issue easily remedied. As the COVID19 virus spreads around Memphis, I believe that leaving your home for any reason other than an emergency presents a greater risk to your health than missed allergy shots. Thus, I urge you to do as the nation’s leading doctors and scientists advise and stay at home until this pandemic subsides in our area. As of now, my office will be closed until the end of April. Hopefully, we will reopen on Monday, May 4. Please check our website and Facebook page for updates or feel free to call the office at 901-682-0430 and your call will be answered as soon as possible. I hope everyone remains well. Dr. Joe Levy
During this challenging time of the coronavirus COVID-19, Dr. Levy and his staff hope all patients are sheltering in place and staying healthy. Although the office is closed temporarily, Dr. Levy believes that currently remaining indoors as much as possible is the better course of action for patients. Staying inside not only lowers exposure to COVID-19, but also helps allergy patients avoid the pollen and other allergens that are rampant at this time of year. When Dr. Levy’s office reopens, you can catch up on your allergy shots at that time. Meanwhile, if you need Dr. Levy, please call his office and leave a message. Your call will be returned as quickly as possible. His office number is: 901-682-0430. As a reminder, please follow the guidelines set out by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Here again is the CDC website:https://www.cdc.gov/ Stay well.
Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland again has urged all residents to stay home and he has issued an executive order requiring all non-essential businesses to close. This order is effective beginning Tuesday, March 24, at 6 p.m. and will last for two weeks. This is due to the highly contagious and serious threat of the coronavirus. Dr. Levy is in agreement with Mayor Strickland, thus he is closing his office with the last allergy shot scheduled for 2 p.m. (tomorrow) Tuesday, March 24. The office will be closed for the duration of Mayor Strickland's order. When we return we will resume allergy injections. For any additional medical questions or medication, please call your primary care doctor. Dr. Levy apologizes for the inconvenience, but hopes that everyone will follow the CDC Guidelines about how to protect yourself from the coronavirus. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/prevention.html Stay well.
